Position Overview:
The Kaizen / Rework Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating continuous improvement activities (Kaizen) and managing rework operations in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures that process improvements are effectively implemented, tracked, and sustained while overseeing rework teams to guarantee that non-conforming products are repaired to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
Kaizen / Continuous Improvement:

Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance product quality.

Identify and analyze production inefficiencies and propose practical solutions using lean tools (5S, VSM, SMED, Poka-Yoke, etc.).

Facilitate cross-functional improvement workshops involving production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Document improvement actions and track KPIs to measure impact and sustainability.

Train and coach team leaders and operators in lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
Rework Operations:

Supervise rework teams to ensure all non-conforming parts or assemblies are addressed effectively and in a timely manner.

Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams to define rework procedures and ensure compliance with customer and internal standards.

Maintain documentation of reworked items, traceability records, and defect trends.

Ensure proper handling and segregation of suspect and non-conforming material (NCM).
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

Five or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably in a continuous improvement or quality/rework-related role.

Hands-on experience leading Kaizen events and managing rework activities.

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).

Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (Yellow Belt or higher).

Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, PDCA, A3).

Effective leadership, communication, and coaching skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic production tracking systems (ERP, MES).

Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)
