Cost Accountant
Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and controlling the costs associated with the company's production and operations. The primary function is to ensure that costs are accurately recorded and reported, providing key information for strategic decision-making. This role involves calculating product costs, preparing cost reports, and implementing systems to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Main Responsibilities:
- Production Cost Calculation:

Calculate direct and indirect costs of manufactured products or services rendered, including materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.

Develop and maintain detailed cost sheets and cost databases.

Prepare cost reports for products and services to facilitate pricing and profit margin decisions.

Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventories.

Ensure proper recording of inventory costs, including periodic adjustments and valuation.

Collaborate in conducting physical inventories and reconciling inventory discrepancies.

Analyze the variance between actual costs and standard or budgeted costs, identifying the causes of deviations.

Propose corrective actions and process improvements to reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.

Prepare periodic reports on production costs and trends, providing recommendations to senior management for resource optimization.

Participate in preparing the annual cost budget and mid- to long-term cost planning.

Collaborate with other departments, such as production and purchasing, to establish cost budgets based on demand and production projections.

Monitor and control daily operational costs, identifying areas of opportunity for optimization.

Ensure that indirect production costs, such as factory overhead, are correctly allocated.

Perform cost analysis for new products, services, or projects, helping to determine the financial viability of these initiatives.

Provide key insights on the impact of new projects on production costs and company profitability.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cost control and operational efficiency.

Work with cross-functional teams to implement more effective processes and reduce waste or inefficiencies.

Ensure that cost accounting practices comply with national and US GAAP.

Ensure that cost accounting procedures are consistent and transparent.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing the necessary documentation for cost audits.

Ensure that cost accounting information is well-organized and accessible for audits and reviews.

Participate in special projects related to cost optimization and operational efficiency.

Support the accounting team with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in accounting (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), etc.) is preferred.

Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency.

3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or similar roles.

- Experience in preparing cost standards and cost estimates.
- Proficiency in accounting and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, formulas).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with other departments
