Position Overview:
The Materials Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities. This role ensures the efficient and accurate handling of materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production schedules.
Responsibilities:
Shipping and Receiving:
Supervise the shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing materials.
Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when necessary (certified forklift operator license required).
Verify and inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and compliance with PO’s.
Warehouse Management:
Implement and manage warehouse layout and space optimization strategies.
Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
Inventory Control:
Ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions in the Epicor ERP system.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss and improve
accuracy.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates, shipping, and receiving clerks. Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring optimal use of resources. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on departmental performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse and materials management, preferably within the automotive industry.
Certified forklift operator’s license.
Certification in supply chain management or related fields (e.g., APICS, CPSM).
Proficiency in materials management software and ERP systems, Epicor or similar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems.
Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)
