Key Responsibilities:

  • Structural & MEP Engineering Support:

    Review structural and MEP plans for code compliance (IBC, NEC, IPC, IECC) and constructability; coordinate redlines and updates with remote engineers; translate technical designs into actionable guidance for production teams.

  • Take-Offs & BOM Preparation:

    Produce precise material take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings; collaborated on accurate, production-ready Bills of Materials (BOM); help develop standardized component libraries and track substitutions.

  • Production Floor Support:

    Act as the on-site engineering liaison during MEP system installation; resolved real-time layout and integration issues; escalate critical concerns to remote engineering for fast resolution.

  • State Inspection & Certification Coordination:

    Represent engineering during modular certification inspections; conduct pre-inspection walkthroughs and coordinate issue resolution; provide documentation and real-time support to inspectors.

  • Engineering Manager Assistance:

    Support the Engineering Manager with technical task tracking, issue resolution, and communication between site teams and remote engineers; ensured engineering activities aligned with project schedules.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration:

    Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to maintain design intent and code compliance; participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives based on field feedback.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of structural systems and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems.

  • Ability to interpret and apply redlines to technical drawings.

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards, including:

    • IBC (International Building Code)

    • NEC (National Electrical Code)

    • IPC (International Plumbing Code)

    • IECC (International Energy Conservation Code)

  • Proficiency in material take-offs and bill of materials (BOM) preparation from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

  • Capability to translate technical drawings into actionable instructions for production teams.

  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant CAD software, Familiarity with U.S building             
  • Bilingual Spanish / English
