Job Description
Position Overview:
The Production Deputy Manager will assist the Plant Production Manager/Director in overseeing daily manufacturing operations of electromechanical systems for the automotive industry. This role is responsible for ensuring that production goals are met with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC), while promoting continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and team development in a fast-paced Tier 1 environment.
Responsibilities:

Support the Production Manager in coordinating and controlling the manufacturing of electromechanical systems (e.g., Sunroof Modules and other mechatronic assemblies) to meet customer requirements and internal targets.

Supervise and coach production teams to ensure daily output aligns with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards.

Oversee the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components in the production process, ensuring high standards of functional testing and traceability.

Monitor production KPIs and drive improvements through data analysis, root cause problem solving, and lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, SMED, VSM).

Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth production flow.

Support the implementation of new production lines or process changes for electromechanical systems, including equipment validation and operator training.

Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949), EHS regulations, and internal policies.

Participate in internal/external audits and support the closure of corrective actions.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Ten or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with a strong background in electromechanical or mechatronic systems.

Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership position within a production environment.

Solid understanding of Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, JIT, and quality systems.

Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

Experience with electromechanical testing, traceability systems, and failure analysis.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (Epicor, SAP…), and production planning tools.

Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)
