Job Description

Position Overview:

The Production Deputy Manager will assist the Plant Production Manager/Director in overseeing daily manufacturing operations of electromechanical systems for the automotive industry. This role is responsible for ensuring that production goals are met with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC), while promoting continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and team development in a fast-paced Tier 1 environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Production Manager in coordinating and controlling the manufacturing of electromechanical systems (e.g., Sunroof Modules and other mechatronic assemblies) to meet customer requirements and internal targets.

  • Supervise and coach production teams to ensure daily output aligns with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards.

  • Oversee the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components in the production process, ensuring high standards of functional testing and traceability.

  • Monitor production KPIs and drive improvements through data analysis, root cause problem solving, and lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, SMED, VSM).

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth production flow.

  • Support the implementation of new production lines or process changes for electromechanical systems, including equipment validation and operator training.

  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949), EHS regulations, and internal policies.

  • Participate in internal/external audits and support the closure of corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Ten or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with a strong background in electromechanical or mechatronic systems.

  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership position within a production environment.

  • Solid understanding of Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, JIT, and quality systems.

  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Experience with electromechanical testing, traceability systems, and failure analysis.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (Epicor, SAP…), and production planning tools.

  • Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)
