Position Overview:

The Production Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the assembly and/or machine operations within the manufacturing facility in Mexico. This role involves leading and supervising a team of workers, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership and Supervision:
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of assembly workers and/or machine operators to achieve production targets and quality standards.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance to ensure efficient operation.
Production Planning and Coordination:
  • Coordinate with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure timely execution of production orders.
  • Allocate resources, including manpower and equipment, to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules or resources as needed.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Enforce quality standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations.
  • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality and safety concerns.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, lean principles, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Health and Safety:
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and accident investigations as needed.
  • Provide safety training and promote awareness of safety protocols and practices among assembly team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing assembly operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably a tier 1 Automotive Supplier.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes, quality control methods, and safety regulations.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)
