Customs Compliance Specialist
Qualifications
- Experience with Customs Valuation and HTS Classification
- Strong data analysis/analytic skills using tools like Alteryx, PowerBI, or PivotTables
- Fact-Finding and Analysis: Fact-finding and analysis are critical parts of the job
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree is required in a business, finance, or technical field
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Teams applications
- International Customs Experience: Experience in international customs procedures (classification and valuation) is essential
- Controls the report of warehouse inventory entries in the USA and generates the revision order of machinery and equipment. Is an experienced IMMEX Customs professional with in-depth knowledge running IMMEX compliance program.
- English advanced (Technical Reading and Conversation).
Responsibilities
- This position is within the Customs & Indirect Tax department and will focus on supporting regional (Americas) import compliance initiatives
- This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a compliant, efficient, and optimal customs import program and IMMEX business
- Support global import compliance initiatives
- Ensure business groups comply with Global Trade, IMMEX, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with program/product management, engineering, R&D, and other Global Trade colleagues to strategically drive and implement jurisdiction and classification processes throughout the product development lifecycle
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and technology of import compliance
