Position Summary

We are seeking a Process Quality Engineer with experience in manufacturing environments, focused on production floor quality, process metrics, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position will be responsible for ensuring product quality and process stability through process monitoring, root cause analysis, nonconformance management, and the implementation of corrective actions. The role will actively participate in process audits, supplier quality activities, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support quality performance on the production floor.
  • Track, analyze, and improve process and quality metrics.
  • Manage internal and external quality issues by implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why's, SPC, and DOE.
  • Manage nonconforming product and raw material quality issues.
  • Conduct process audits and participate in supplier audits.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Maintain quality documentation, including PPAPs, Control Plans, and inspection records.
  • Support new product introductions, First Article Inspections (FAI), and engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Materials teams to drive process improvements.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and projects focused on process improvement and quality system compliance.

Requirements

Education

  • Engineering degree in a related field.
  • Candidates with incomplete studies may be considered if they have strong, proven experience in similar roles.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Process Quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • PPAP
    • ControlCast or similar quality management systems
    • Process audits
    • Supplier audits
    • Raw material nonconformance management
    • Process metrics and KPI monitoring
    • Corrective and preventive actions
    • Root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • Availability to work on the production floor.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding and practical application of the 8D methodology.
  • Quality Management Systems.
  • Nonconforming Material Control.
  • PPAP.
  • SPC.
  • DOE.
  • ISO 9001.
  • Blueprint and specification interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Six Sigma knowledge.
  • Experience in the metal fabrication or sheet metal industry.
  • Experience within established manufacturing and engineering companies.
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Valid U.S. visa is a plus.
