We are looking for a self-directed and compliance-focused Foreign Trade Specialist to join a global manufacturing organization in Tijuana, Mexico. This is a high-impact individual contributor role, ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise, independent work style, and the ability to oversee customs compliance across the supply chain.
In this position, you will act as the key control point for customs compliance by coordinating and measuring internal and external teams, customs brokers, and government agencies, ensuring that all trade operations align with Mexican regulations, international agreements, and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise with foreign trade partners the daily operation of foreign trade and special operations (virtual, regime changes, etc.).
- Confirm with the foreign trade partner the safeguarding and preparation of electronic files (record keeping), as well as extensions and other formalities done in government independences.
- Coordinate and supervise the presentation of 8th rules, extensions, etc.
- Coordinate and audit the compliance of foreign trade promotion programs (IMMEX, CIVA, PROSEC – Compliance Matrix).
- Supervision of the control inventory system (Annex 24) and VAT Certification (Annex 31).
- Coordinate with the foreign trade partner the presentation of the annual foreign trade report.
- Carrying out internal audits linked to customs compliance (Fixed Assets, RRNA, COO, INCOTERMS, pedimentos, etc.).
- Coordinate issues related to obtaining Free Tread Agreements and origin rules analysis for finish goods.
- Standardization of processes (training, documentation of procedures and policies) to ensure efficiency and productivity in coordination with LNCA Team.
- Implement weekly, monthly, and annual compliance indicators (KPI´s).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education: Degree in International Trade, Customs, Logistics, or a related field.
3-5 years years in foreign trade within the IMMEX manufacturing environment, with experience coordinating or supervising trade operations.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of IMMEX Program, Annex 24/31, PROSEC, and CIVA
Knowledge of OEA/CTPAT certifications. (Desirable).
Leadership Skills: Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, enforce compliance procedures, and act as the main liaison between operational staff and external agencies.
Languages: Spanish (native or fluent), English (advanced).
Travel: Availability to travel to the U.S. and Mexico as needed.
