Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Must have knowledge and experience in all aspects of production introduction and validation of new product, manufacturing process development, product design, equipment and tooling validation, and project management.

English level- Advanced (Reading and Writing that allow fluid, Presentations and/or Participation in Negotiation Processes).

The Coatings Development Engineer will conduct laboratory studies on proposals to develop coatings and paint products. This individual will apply quantitative and qualitative chemical and engineering principles, knowledge of materials, and material science to the development of new products and reformulation of existing products. He/she will also be responsible for providing technical support to the North American technical and sales forces to use their fundamental and deep understanding of chemistry, physics, and polymer science to provide solutions to some challenging problems. This position will be a subject matter expert on paints and coatings at the company. This role will manage multiple projects that require the application of 1st principles and knowledge of materials to develop novel solutions needed to launch our new products on time and with superior finishing quality. Typical tasks involve material selection, authoring material standards, validating materials internally and with suppliers, managing Materials Documentation systems, root-cause-analysis, formulation of new polymers, researching new technologies to assess feasibility, and process optimization.

Proactive person, multi-task, works well under pressure, detail oriented. Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.

 

Activities:

  • Conduct research on raw materials, analyses data and applies research to the development of Golf NPI based on marketing input.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of product design or system layout.
  • Plan and develop experimental test program.
  • Perform bench level laboratory tests as part of product development.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing scale up.
  • Support the North America Marketing and Sales group with field trials and field troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Provide support to the North American technical and sales forces and manages specific product development projects for the North American market.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to confirm all designs for manufacturability.
  • Work with paint vendors to develop high-quality paint solutions.
  • Assist with cost reduction projects.
  • Participate in detailed problem-solving methodology (DOE, 8-D, A-3) with various departments to define true root cause and process prevention based corrective action.
  • Work with R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing Departments during concept, prototyping, and release of new Golf products.
