Profile: Regional Transportation Manager Mexico
A Senior Export and Import Manager oversees the global and domestic movement of goods, ensuring compliance with international and local trade regulations, optimizing logistics, and developing strategies to enhance profitability and efficiency in transportation operations. This role includes managing relationships with carriers, handling procurement processes for logistics services, and collaborating with customer support teams to address inquiries and maintain high service levels. The professional plays a crucial role in managing import and export processes, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring smooth supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution: ○ Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and profitability of
import/export and domestic logistics operations and support business growth ○ Analyze market trends, trade agreements, and regulations to identify
opportunities and mitigate risks. 2. Compliance Management:
○ Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, local laws, and company policies.
○ Manage accurate and complete documentation for cross-border and domestic shipments.
○ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tariffs, taxes, and trade agreements. 3. RFP/Procurement/Country Management of All Carriers
○ Manage Request for Proposals (RFP) and procurement processes for carrier services.
○ Negotiate contracts and monitor performance to ensure high service levels and cost-effectiveness.
○ Oversee country-level operations and relationships with all transportation carriers and service providers
○ Ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards for service quality. ○ Negotiate with freight forwarders, and customs brokers to optimize costs and
timelines. 4. Logistics and Operations:
○ Coordinate transportation and warehousing to streamline the movement of goods.
○ Create process flows, drive SOPs (standard operation procedures), and enhance service through strategy
5. Customer Support, Vendor, and Stakeholder Management:
○ Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to meet delivery deadlines and quality expectations and to address transportation-related inquiries or issues.
○ Communicate shipment updates and proactively resolve disruptions to maintain customer satisfaction.
○ Resolve disputes or issues related to all shipments (international/domestic) freight and customer service issues.
○ Participating in the sales process and customer onboarding in an active customer facing role, answering questions addressing concerns
6. Documentation and Reporting: ○ Prepare and review all necessary import/export documentation, including
invoices, shipping labels, and customs declarations. ○ Generate reports on trade performance, compliance metrics, and cost analysis. ○ Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations. ○ Prepare reports detailing performance, cost savings, and recommendations for
further optimization.
Skills and Competencies:
● Trade Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international trade laws, customs procedures, global markets, logistics, and supply chain management.
● Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate favorable terms with logistics providers and suppliers.

Educational and Professional Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
● 8+ years of experience in import/export or logistics management.
● Certifications such as Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) are advantageous.
● Bilingual English and Spanish and ability to travel to US (visa)
